Police in Hamden are investigating an unconfirmed report of a gunman near the Hamden Transfer Station on Wintergreen Avenue, just past the Wintergreen parking garage, according to an alert from Southern Connecticut State University, and university police are assisting Hamden and New Haven police in scouring the area.
SCSU is asking members of the university community to stay away from the search area.
