With snow covering the beach, a group of more than 30 brave souls ushered in the new year by taking an icy polar plunge into Long Island Sound at Point O' Woods Beach New Year's Day. The plungers did not stay in the 40 degree water long, but this beach tradition is one where everyone must get their heads under water for it to count.
