Comedy Central has released a touching clip from its “Night of Too Many Stars” broadcast that features Katy Perry singing “Firework” with a young autistic girl named Jodi DiPiazza who clearly found a way, through her love of music, to ignite the light, and let it shine. DiPiazza sings and plays piano. Katy Perry joins her. And pretty much everyone in New York’s Beacon Theater, where the annual show that benefits autism programs was recorded last Saturday, gets teary-eyed.

Admittedly, Perry looks a little unsure how to handle the tidal wave of affection that bursts forth from DiPiazza once they finish. (That little girls hugs her hard and does not want to let go.) But still: very sweet and inspiring considering, based on the intro, how much that child has progressed.
